between the Democrats and the Republicans. It can also be described as the division between the Progressive and Traditional people. Though the terms may be shallow, deep inside at the core of the divergence of the nation are the believers and the non-believers. The conflict arises about the creator God of the Holy Bible.
This split of contrary views is seen reflected about every political issue. About 30 years back, the believers were more than the non- believers at a ratio of 6:1. The believers outnumbered the non- believers, but soon a drastic change took place after about 10 years. The non- believers started to dominate and soon controlled the courts, education system and the media also. The split has now reached the ratio 50:50. Simply put, the Believers believe in God, while the non-believers are the atheists, agnostics, and anyone who does not believe in God and that He was the creator.
The believers believe that the whole universe was created by God and the soul of man is eternal while the body is destructible. To them God sees everything, hears every thing and sometimes even hears our prayers. But the non-believers are of the opinion that the universe was created by accident and there is no such thing as the soul. They do not believe in God, The Bible is described as a mere fiction written by man.
Truth is essential and morality and laws were created from truth, and so, should never conflict with God. Contrary to this belief, the non-believers believed that there was no such thing as truth and the morals and laws were made to suppress man. So, they went to any level to achieve certain things.
The believers had great belief in faith and freedom and the history of America is a success story of the good over the bad. The non-believers said that the founding fathers were greedy, slave owners, and the founding documents had to be changed. They even went to the extent of saying that the American flag is a symbol of oppression.
Marriage is a sacred communion between two people, family was the creation of God and is to be nurtured and cherished by the church and the state. To the non-believers, marriage, family all were the creation of man to enslave women and children. So, marriage was to be abolished and it was the State that was all powerful.
While the Believers believed in the Ten Commandments, and that each human being has a purpose in life which has to be completed. But to the non-believer, human life is just the effects of a cosmic accident and society has to be responsible to man. Charities have to be done through bureaucracies based on their political ideologies.
Believers want a small central Government and the local communities should control the schools, and it should have the liberty and freedom to practice any religion it wants and also if feeling to abolish all this can do so without the interference from anyone outside. The non-believers wants America to be ruled by a Central state, control man’s thoughts and actions in, short, man should be the slave of the state.
