Also all students must have at least a high school diploma or GED for these grants that are mentioned above. In some cases students must be pursing their very first undergraduate degrees. The application will determine if the student is eligible and then will award an amount which is based on the financial needs of the student. The results from the applications will be known in two to four weeks.

There are several other types of federal grants that are awarded to students which is based upon their financial situation. But other grants will be awarded bases on merit and all achievements that are made from the students.

There is also a scholarship program that can be rewarded to all students who went on to achieve academic honors from their school. These type of programs are funded by the individual states along with the federal movement too. All students can determine any eligibility just by talking to their high school counselor or someone in the college financial aid department.
