This is an Accrued Interest Calculator. Accrued Interest Calculator is useful for those who are or think about differing payments on their loans.
In case you are a college student who wants to differ a loan payment this is the calculator for you. This calculator applies to any kind of loan deferment as well.
The calculator will help you figure out the amount of college loan debt has been added to your original payoff amount with deferred loan payments.
When students with unsubsidized student loans differ payments they will accrue interest.
This interest is added to your principal. During loan repayment the total have to be paid.
When your loan is in repayment you will have to pay interest on interest. Make sure not to defere the payment if you do not have to.
In order to calculate the accrued interest you must do the following:
1. Enter original loan amount for each year's loans (total)
2. Estimate how many months of deferment there will be/is (please note this includes the 6 month grace period after graduation)
3. Enter the interest rate for the loan
4. Select how often the interest compounds (every month, quarter, month ?)
Once you perform the calculations for each year's loan you will need to add them together. Please remember that the limits change.
Looking at the outcome of the calculator please note the kind of money problems deferring payment on college loans, or any other loans for students can create.
